🎯 What Is the JFT Basic Test?
The JFT-Basic (Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese) is a computer-based language proficiency test designed to evaluate whether a foreigner has enough Japanese ability to live and work in Japan. It is required for those applying for the SSW (i) Working Visa.
The test is based on the JF Standard and CEFR A2 level and evaluates if a person can:

📚 Test Structure of the JFT-Basic
Total test time: 60 minutes. The questions are divided into four sections:
- Script & Vocabulary (Word Meaning, Usage, Kanji Reading)
- Conversation & Expression (Grammar & Phrases)
- Listening Comprehension (Dialogues, Instructions, Announcements)
- Reading Comprehension (Notices, Flyers, Simple Letters)
